Kai Janik
Fantasy Illustrations
Here you can see a selection of my Tolkienverse illustrations, many of them mixed media. I might start them between therapy sessions, apply a few washes of watercolour on the weekend, and sketch and finish them digitally while commuting to the hospital. Working with traditional media and digitally on the same painting lets me experience and unite the advantages of both worlds in the same process.

"But Fingon could not release the well-wrought bond upon his wrist, nor sever it, nor draw it from the stone. Again therefore in his pain Maedhros begged that he would slay him; butFingon cut off his hand above the wrist, and Thorondor bore them back to Mithrim."
